Capital CU Announces Member Services Manager
Credit Union has announced the hiring of Sophia Lee as member services manager at their Main Office, located at 204 W Thayer Ave in Bismarck. As member services manager, Lee will supervise frontline-service staff at all Bismarck and Mandan branches, executing strategies to help achieve the credit union’s growth goals. She will be responsible for providing members with services on a variety of complex transactions while following the credit union’s core values and service standards. “After being in Bismarck for two years, I have heard from many people that Capital Credit Union has always treated them as a valued member or employee,” says Lee. “I know this is an organization I will be proud to work for.” Lee attended University of Montana in Missoula, Montana, and has six years of experience in financial services. She joins the Capital Credit Union team from Starion Bank where she had worked since 2021. Lee is a mentor for the BIO Girls program and involved in Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network.
 
Dakotaland Federal Credit Union Seeking VP of Human Resources

This position provides input to the CEO on the credit union’s strategic plan to reflect human resource activities and trends. The position develops, implements, and manages the human resource function for the credit union with primary emphasis in areas of policy development, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal programs, employee relations, employee benefits, recruitment and retention strategies, organizational development, record compliance, counseling, orientation, and employee training and development programs. Credit Unions United Chapter Meeting
The Credit Unions United Chapter has scheduled their meeting for Tuesday, September 12th, at Sleep Inn – 2400 10th St SW, Minot. Meet at 6:00 p.m. with taco bar serving at 6:30 p.m., followed by a special program on robbery training. Central Chapter Meeting
The South Dakota Central Chapter has scheduled their meeting for Tuesday, September 19 at 6:00 p.m. Meet at Scoreboard; we will be ordering off the menu. Red River Chapter Meeting
The Red River Chapter will meet on Thursday, September 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Front Street Taproom – Cellar Room, located at 614 Main Ave, Fargo, ND 58103. Dinner will be Rhombus Guys Pizza and Beer for just $10.00 per person. Special guest will be Jeff Olson, President/CEO of Dakota Credit Union Association. CUAid Activated
Devastating wildfires are happening on western Maui of the Hawaiian Islands. CUAid has been activated and is now accepting donations. You can make a contribution here. The National CU Foundation is working with the Hawaii League and Maui credit unions to get relief funds in the hands of credit union members and staff who have been affected.

Celebrating 75 Years of International CU Day!
Join the celebration of the 75th International Credit Union (ICU) Day on Oct. 19, 2023. ICU Day offers a platform to reflect on the credit union movement's rich history and to highlight its current achievements and future aspirations. Since its inception in 1948, the annual event has taken place on the third Thursday of October, serving as a beacon for credit union innovation, member experiences and social impact. CUNA has created a suite of ICU Day products, including free-resource downloads, design-bundle purchases, and a store of branded memorabilia to support credit unions in their celebration planning. Leadership Development – Scholarships Available  
Our iLead@11 DakCU Emerging Leader Program is designed specifically for emerging leaders in the credit union industry, based on the popular Leadership@11 program designed by Eleven Performance Group. It is an ongoing program that allows participants to start whenever they want and determine their own pace. Scholarships are also available through Dakota Credit Union Foundation by completing the application form found here.
