Whether it be during an official meeting or in casual conversation, staff at your Dakota Credit Union Association is always taking note of your questions, areas of interest, and concerns. We make note, then use that information to select our mainstage speakers, as well as the topics for the breakout sessions at our Annual Summit. This year, we are very excited to offer these exceptional educational opportunities for you, bringing you the latest trends, pain points and ways to circumvent, and as well as tips for strategic planning and navigating a volatile economic environment. Interest Rate Risk Environment with Greg Tomaszewicz, The Baker Group The global pandemic set into motion a series of unprecedented economic policies with massive amounts of liquidity and stimulus from policymakers; the ensuing highest inflation rate of the past 40 years must now be fought through restrictive Fed behavior. Balance sheet managers have been left to deal with large swings in interest rate and liquidity risks, cost of funds, stubborn loan rates, and ever-tightening margins. More than ever, it is critical that credit union leadership take a whole balance sheet approach, as understanding and utilizing wholesale markets could significantly reduce some of these pressures. Greg Tomaszewicz is a Senior Financial Strategist with The Baker Group. He has helped financial institutions across the country in evaluating their balance sheet risks and opportunities. This session is so important and timely that it will be offered during both morning and afternoon time slots. We emphasize that EVERY credit union needs to hear this message!
