What's NEW at This Year's Summit!

2/13/2024

From the main stage to the multiple learning opportunities available with our expanded breakout and pre-conference sessions, you do not want to miss this!
DakCU is thrilled to announce a powerhouse of keynote speakers and breakout sessions available to you at this year’s Annual Summit! Are you interested in expanding your industry skills and knowledge? Our newly formatted and expanded event will offer expertise ranging from credit union economics, volunteer and board of directors training, marketing and leadership development, winning over GenZ, and much more!

NEW THIS YEAR! Don’t miss our Pre-Conference Sessions on Tuesday afternoon, M! Opening ceremonies take place bright and early on Wednesday morning, so arrive on Tuesday, May 14, and choose from afternoon meetings, including the Small Credit Union Roundtable, a discussion among peers; or Cracking the Code, how credit unions can win over GenZ.

Jeff Olson, DakCU President/CEO will kick things off starting at 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, with opening ceremonies. We are also very excited to welcome the new board chair of America’s Credit Unions, Brian Schools, to the stage! Bring your questions, as he will be holding a Q & A session on the direction and status of our new national association!

Then, Steve Rick, Chief Economist for TruStage will explain his economic analysis as it relates specifically to credit unions. Steve is always a crowd favorite; his expertise is particularly useful for understanding trends and links between the economy and the financial services industry.

Following opening ceremonies, we will break for an afternoon of recreational golf, conveniently located right on site at the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort. Not a golfer? No worries! Also NEW this year, for non-golfers, or for those leaders and/or board members who prefer, we are offering multiple breakout sessions to run concurrently with the golf outing. Attend either (or both) a Leadership and Board Hot Topics workshop from FarWell, and/or Succession Planning from a Regulatory Perspective with Kayley Grant from ViClarity.

Heading into Thursday, prepare to be inspired as keynote speaker, violinist, TEDx speaker, and thought leader, Diane Allen, explains how everyone can achieve their highest potential by accessing “the flow state,” increasing the meaning, joy and fulfillment in work and life. Learn how to “Unlock Genius for Increased Engagement, Retention & Recruitment.”

Next up: Larry Pruss will present “Unlocking the Power of AI in Financial Services/A Journey into Artificial Intelligence.” In this engaging presentation, we will delve into the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its profound impact on financial institutions. Buckle up as we explore how AI is reshaping the landscape of finance.

Thursday morning and afternoon breakout sessions include:
  • Helping Teams Thrive in a VUCA World with FarWell
  • Cracking the Code: How Credit Unions Can Win Over GenZ with Sparrow
  • Succession Planning from a Regulatory Perspective with ViClarity
  • Labor and Employment Law Update with Jackson Lewis PC

Finally, back on the main stage, our closing keynote, Juan Bendana, will present “High Performance & Engagement” – with science-backed insights on how we can all feel more energized and engaged. After this high-energy humorous presentation, you will leave with the tools to be more engaged and inspired to share that energy with the people who need it most!
