Are you interested in growing your career in the credit union industry? Would you like to expand your network and gain professional connections? Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU) has an incredible opportunity for you!

In the interest of engaging more credit union young professionals, our Annual Summit will feature an incredible Crasher opportunity for those age 35 or under. Once again, Christopher Morris, Engagement Consultant at Credit Union National Association (CUNA) for the Midwest region, will be leading our group as Crasher Facilitator and Mentor.

“I’m beyond excited to spend time with the Crashers and dig into things such as enriching professional development and the larger credit union movement,” Morris shared. “We will gain new perspectives, new contacts, knowledge and so much more!” In fact, Christopher has prepared a video message for those thinking about applying for this opportunity!

As a Summit Crasher, you will have the opportunity to take in top industry speakers, gain valuable insight about the credit union movement, expand your knowledge, and enhance your professional development and network.

Known as a passionate advocate for the credit union difference, Christopher is a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) and earned his Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation in 2005. He received both his Caribbean DE (CaribDE) designation and International CUDE (I-CUDE) designation in 2016. Additionally, he helped lead the transformational CUDE training for hundreds of credit union professionals as a mentor and facilitator. He has received the Credit Union Times' "Trailblazer 40 Below" award, is a recipient of the World Council of Credit Unions Young Credit Union People Program (WYCUP) award and has been profiled as a "CU Rock Star" by Credit Union Magazine.

Christopher is the author of the book "We Are All Made of Scars," a memoir highlighting his tumultuous teenage years along with lessons learned, released in January of 2023. He earned his BA in teaching high school English from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He is a veteran of the United States Army, including NATO peacekeeping operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“We are thrilled to have Christopher Morris as our Crasher Facilitator and Mentor once again this year,” stated Jeff Olson, DakCU President/CEO. “Our staff has benefited from his knowledge in our strategic planning meetings, as well as numerous credit union events that we have hosted over the past several years. We know those who are selected as Crashers for our 2023 Summit will leave feeling reinvigorated, as well as more knowledgeable about our industry.”

Olson continues, “I strongly encourage our credit union affiliates to sponsor their emerging leaders for this program. It will have an enormous impact on their careers, goals, and professional development, and there is no better way to build and sustain our movement than to provide this mentoring platform,” he added.
Click here to apply. Deadline is March 31, 2023, and Crashers will be announced in the Memo on April 4.

*Crashers receive FREE Registration, made possible by your Dakota Credit Union Association and our trusted strategic partner, Millennium Corporate. That’s a $399 value! The only cost Crashers and their credit union will endure is hotel rooms and travel expenses. Please contact George McDonald if you have questions about our Crasher opportunity.

This year’s Summit will be held May 9 – 10 at the Delta Marriott in Fargo. Review the complete conference agenda and speaker lineup here.
