Your Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU) and CUNA, your national trade association, constantly work together to support small credit unions with new product ideas, compliance and policies, training, education, networking, scholarships and more.
We encourage you to start by joining CUNA’s Small Credit Union Community, where you can be a part of the growing community of thriving small credit unions across the country. This CUNA group connects small credit unions together as one team for limitless networking and lightning quick answers to your most pressing questions. With 1,200 current users across the country, this is an easy and fast way to ask questions and get answers from peers and is a safe space for small credit union professionals. Here, you will find a File Library with sample policies, the CUNA Peer Profile Report financial analysis tool, and even strategic planning guides. DakCU also has networking opportunities, events, and training that are designed specifically for small Dakota credit unions, including Small Credit Union Roundtables and the DakCU Professionals Forum. DakCU offers reduced pricing on strategic planning, core consultancy, card services and more for DakCU member credit unions under $125M. Further, if you are seeking new products or services and need assistance in identifying and contacting a potential solution provider, our Chief Officer of Strategic Services, George McDonald, is available to provide existing or new options. In addition, your Association offers scholarships such as the Roger Heacock GAC-Hike the Hill Scholarship which helps to cover expenses for those who wish to attend the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) or the Fall Legislative/Regulatory Hike the Hill event. Those interested in applying for a Roger Heacock Scholarships should contact Jay Kruse, Chief Advocacy Officer. The Dakota Credit Union Foundation has also focused on advancing small credit unions by awarding scholarships for leadership development through the iLead@11 DakCU Emerging Leader Program, financial education technology such as Zogo, and CUNA’s Certified Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP). Applications can be submitted at any time and are reviewed and voted on by the Foundation Board of Directors at periodic meetings. Finally, Compliance support is always a pressing issue for small credit unions. DakCU’s in-house Chief Compliance Officer, Amy Kleinschmit, is available to answer regulatory and compliance questions for DakCU member credit unions via email or by phone 800.279.6328 ext. 20964. We also offer compliance solutions such as InfoSight and CU Policy Pro – both provided free as a benefit of membership. Other compliance solutions such as AffirmX and RecoveryPro are available for a very reasonable fee. Your Dakota Credit Union Association’s mission is to help you succeed. Do not hesitate to contact any of DakCU staff with questions or concerns – we are your first stop for all things credit union related! Comments are closed.
