ND GAC Launching New Advocacy Recognition The North Dakota Government Affairs Committee (GAC) has been working for several months on an expanded and more visible recognition plan for our CUPAC/CULAC contributors. The committee desires to express their sincere gratitude to the many credit union advocates who give generously to our state (CUPAC) and federal (CULAC) political action committees. As you know, the money we receive is used to support credit union-friendly candidates at the state and federal levels, ensuring that Dakotas’ credit unions have a voice when legislative and regulatory decisions are being made. As our ND GAC Chairman, Steve Davis, so eloquently stated, "Your financial support grants us a seat at the table—a place from which we can authentically share the credit union story, rather than having it narrated for us by outsiders. It's your involvement that ensures our voice is heard, our stories told, and our interests represented at every necessary turn.” There are several parts of the new recognition rollout. First, we are planning an exclusive “Stack the Pac” event at the Annual Summit. As a token of appreciation for our generous 2023 contributors, a social will be held on May 14 beginning at 7:30 p.m. on site at Grand Falls Casino Resort. Joining us will be a special guest: Trey Hawkins, Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer of America's Credit Unions, who will provide a brief advocacy update. Invitations have been sent to those who qualify for this recognition event; however, if you would like to join us, you can make a minimum donation of $24 at the door. The second layer of recognition will be a donor wall to be displayed prominently on the DakCU website. The dedication and support of our members are not only acknowledged but celebrated through this gesture, but the visual aspect will reinforce the foundational role each contributor plays in our collective advocacy efforts. This is in the building stages and will be available soon. Finally, each contributor can request a personalized recognition certificate (shown above) that can be framed and proudly displayed, demonstrating your commitment to credit union advocacy. To request your certificate, click here. We are profoundly grateful for the generous support of our donors, whose commitment not only strengthens our initiatives but also embodies the spirit of community and collaboration that is central to our mission. Click here for the list of our individual 2023 contributors or see below. As we honor these contributions, we also encourage our esteemed donors to continue their invaluable support. Your ongoing partnership is crucial. Consider that even every single dollar contributes significantly to our cause. Transitioning from this pivotal realization, it is essential to explore another significant avenue of support: payroll deduction. This method not only simplifies the process of contributing but also amplifies the sustainability of our advocacy efforts. By integrating a small deduction from your regular payroll, you can provide consistent support that fuels our ongoing projects and initiatives, ensuring that our presence and influence in political spheres remain strong and unwavering. Feel free to contact me for more information about the payroll deduction program. Finally, on behalf of the ND GAC, I extend a deep and sincere thank you to each of you. Your contributions truly shape our capacity to advocate effectively, ensuring that the Dakota Credit Union Association continues to thrive and represent your interests at every level. Together, we are building a legacy of advocacy and influence that will benefit our community for years to come. Comments are closed.
