As we’re all gearing up for the New Ideas Conference in Deadwood, South Dakota, the Dakota Credit Union Foundation is planning a fun event for participants to enjoy!

On Tuesday night of the conference, October 5th, attendees will have three events to choose from!  Or, even if you are not attending the conference but are in the area, feel free to join us!

Did you know that Deadwood offers some of the best tours in the Midwest?  And the ones we have lined up are no exception!  But we’re not talking about your run-of-the-mill history tours. The Brothel Tour will provide our group with a guided tour of the former Shasta Rooms/Beige Door.  This hour-long tour is a new attraction in this "Old West" town; it uses storytelling to explain the history of prostitution in Deadwood.  The industry existed in Deadwood from 1876 until the last of the houses were raided and closed in 1980!

Or, perhaps you are interested in experiencing some paranormal activity?  Guests of this tour will experience Deadwood’s first and finest lodge, Hotel Bullock, while learning about some the building’s most famous paranormal events.  This tour is also about an hour long.

Finally, if a tour isn’t of interest for you, try the wine tasting at Belle Joli Winery Tasting Room.  A family-run winery, they were inspired by the unique beauty and legacy of the land in the Black Hills, and in 2000, they planted their first vines in the heart of Belle Fourche.  The winery produces award-winning wines, from sources grown, harvested, and bottled in western South Dakota.  The tasting will also be about an hour long.

Once all three experiences have concluded, the groups will meet up for appetizers and beverages.  Reserve your spot now, as each attraction has limited capacity.  Simply “opt-in” to the DakCU Foundation Fundraiser when you register for New Ideas.

We look forward to seeing you in Deadwood!  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
