DakCU Offices Closed Monday Dakota Credit Union Association offices will be closed on Monday, October 9, in observation of Columbus Day and Native American Day. Columbus Day is a national holiday which officially celebrates the anniversary of Christopher Columbus' arrival in and the discovery of the American Continent on October 12, 1492. Not all states or regions follow this observance, and instead, they celebrate other events on the day. South Dakota's official holiday on this date is Native American Day, which celebrates the cultures and contributions of the many Native American tribes. BND Foreign Currency Exchange BND has asked us to share the following information with our credit unions: In 2019, Bank of North Dakota discontinued providing foreign currency exchange services to individuals who were not established BND customers. If your credit union does not have a direct relationship with a foreign currency vendor, recommendations for your customers include using a currency exchange service at an international airport; using an ATM in the country they are visiting; paying by credit card instead of foreign currency; spending the currency in the country they are visiting or sell back at an international airport. Please adjust your institution’s procedures to reflect the options that are available to your members. Headed to New Ideas Conference in Deadwood? Don’t forget DakCU Mobile!
