by Christopher Morris, CUNA Engagement Consultant I’m looking forward to spending time as your Crasher Facilitator and Mentor for the upcoming DakCU Annual Summit in Rapid City. If you or someone in your credit union is age 35 or under and interested in networking, sharing knowledge, professional development, community engagement, and "Crashing" the DakCU Summit….what are you waiting for? This is a great opportunity to step outside the day-to-day and get exposed to the larger credit union world. You’ll meet other people your age in credit unions, as well as others in the movement from across the Dakotas. Building a larger network is so important – and, as you will discover, also critical to your professional development. While I’ve now “aged out” gracefully and officially from the Crasher demographic (I like to consider myself an “elder millennial”), I’ll be there to relay some of the things I have learned in my young professional journey in credit unions. We will also spend time together talking about the basics of CUs, our industry and philosophy to help you get a better understanding of the movement. That way you can keep purpose constant both professionally and personally in your role at the credit union. We will also have some opportunities to interact with key folks at the Annual Summit in exclusive Crasher sessions. It will be an amazing time! Looking forward to seeing you there!
