WCCU Begins Search for Next CEO

​Due to retirement, this Williston, ND based CU is seeking a team-oriented experienced executive to lead their $450M credit union. 

Western Cooperative Credit Union (WCCU) based in Williston, ND, is seeking its next President/CEO. With $450 million in assets, 20,000 members, and 8 branches, the credit union focuses on its communities, members, vision, and products to achieve success. WCCU has been serving western North Dakota since 1937. The credit union has a strong senior leadership team and an engaged Board of Directors. 

Due to an upcoming retirement, WCCU is seeking a forward-thinking, community-oriented, service focused leader as its next President/Chief Executive Officer. The selected board appointed candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, planning, and oversight of all credit union activities in accordance with policies and objectives established by the Board of Directors. The CEO will be responsible for successful and continued growth of WCCU while providing effective leadership, oversight, and development of employees. Additional duties include analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of all operations, leading change where necessary and advancing organizational leadership and culture. 

This individual will be an approachable leader who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally, this person will encourage a team-oriented approach to management and have a strong desire to be an integral part of the community and industry. Successful candidates will understand the changing economy and developing technology and how those areas affect the credit union’s field of membership directly. A dedication to the financial services industry, bachelor’s degree preferably in finance or related field, and minimum of five years’ experience in a financial institution at the executive management level is required. Experience in credit unions and professional certifications are desired. Candidate must be able to work on site at the main office in Williston, ND.
