Prairie Business Magazine recently announced its Top 25 Women in Business for 2021. The annual contest draws attention and recognition to the many creative, successful businesswomen in North Dakota, South Dakota and western Minnesota. Recipients are selected through a process that emphasizes professional achievement, community contributions and volunteerism. The 25 women listed come from a variety of industries, and all have made exceptional contributions in their chosen fields and communities. Dakota Credit Union Association is thrilled to share that two credit union professionals were included in the 2021 list! Congratulations to: Melanie Stillwell, President and CEO, Western Cooperative Credit Union, Williston, N.D. In addition to leading her credit union, Melanie is a seasoned professional with experience in both accounting and finance. She has been an examiner at NCUA, a VP of lending, executive VP, all before becoming president of Western Cooperative in 2002. She is a board member for Dakota Credit Union Association, board member of the ND Department of Financial Institutions State CU Board; and member of the CUNA Examination and Supervision Subcommittee, just to name a few. Andrea Berg, Branch Manager, Capital Credit Union, Fargo, N.D. Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Minot State University. She was instrumental in the opening of the new Veterans Boulevard Fargo branch. In addition to leading a team of eight, she is a volunteer at the Rape & Abuse Crisis Center and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
