Greetings! I hope you are all enjoying the summer and the accompanying vacation time that many of us use during these warmer months. #ILoveMyCreditUnion Day is rapidly approaching. It is just 11 days until #ILoveMyCreditUnion Day. In case you forgot, Friday, July 28th is reserved for a global social media blitz. I hope you’ll join me in celebrating this one day when credit unions across the country (and even in other countries) band together to make a splash on any and all social media outlets using that hashtag. There are many turnkey graphics that you can find here – and don’t forget to sign your credit union up as a participant so they can gauge how many organizations participated this year. New Ideas Returns to Deadwood In October. It’s not too early to start thinking ahead and making plans for fall activities and events. The 2023 New Ideas Conference is set for October 10 – 11 at Cadillac Jacks in Deadwood, SD. Registration is now open for this cutting edge, future-thinking event and networking opportunity. I am also very excited to announce this year's host and emcee, Bo McDonald, founder and CEO of Your Marketing Co. He will be the facilitator as we delve into exciting new ways to embrace the cooperative principles within your own credit union doors, engaging with current and future members. I know for many of you, our fall conference is a favorite! We do have early bird discounted pricing of just $299 per person. Click here for additional information. Don’t miss the DakCU Professionals Forum! As a reminder, registration deadline is approaching for two important events happening in Fargo this August. The DakCU Professionals Forum takes place on Tuesday, August 15th at the Delta Hotel. Exclusively for Dakota Credit Union Association members as a dues-supported benefit, your Association invites credit union professionals from across North Dakota and South Dakota to gather to discuss and learn from each other on a variety of topics. This event is open to all credit union professionals; and it is our best opportunity to network, exchange ideas, discuss operational challenges, and learn about best practices among peers. Our day will begin at 12:30 p.m. (CT) – please grab lunch ahead of time (on your own) and then gather at the Delta Hotel. Conversations and discussions will begin immediately and continue until approximately 5:30 p.m. when our social, sponsored by Millenium Corporate, begins at the same location. Again, this is a complimentary event for affiliated credit unions, but we do ask you to register no later than Friday, August 4th, so we can reserve your seat. Register here. While you are in town, stay for more fun on Wednesday, August 16th, as the Dakota Credit Union Foundation kicks off our 7th Annual Golf Scramble at Rose Creek Golf Course. All proceeds will go to Fargo Sanford Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in support of the new Credit Unions for Kids Micropreemie Unit. You can sign up as an individual player, register a team, or even grab one of our many sponsorship opportunities to support this great cause. More information and registration is available is available here. Foundation welcomes two new board members. Finally, I would like to send a warm welcome our newest Foundation board members: Tyler Gross, Senior Loan Officer at Sioux Valley Co-op FCU, Director representing Central South Dakota, and Kylee Lemieux, Marketing Manager at North Star Community CU, Director representing Central North Dakota. Not only do our volunteers generously donate their time and energy to our charitable foundation, but the credit unions they represent support our mission as well. We thank you all! Have a great week! DakCU President/CEO
