DakCU is very proud to announce that Steve Pierce, vice president of innovation at Black Hills Federal Credit Union, has been named a 2023 Credit Union Rock Star by the editorial team of Credit Union Magazine. "Prepare to be inspired and motivated by the 11th annual class of Rock Stars," says Bill Merrick, Credit Union Magazine deputy editor. “There’s much to admire about these 25 credit union professionals and their compelling stories of generosity, ingenuity, and concern for others.” The Credit Union Rock Stars program recognizes outstanding credit union professionals and directors from a wide range of disciplines who innovate and inspire to advance the missions of their credit unions. This year’s 25 winners were selected for their exceptional creativity, innovation, and passion from a pool of more than 200 nominees. Steve Pierce joined Black Hills FCU in 2007 to lead digital services as a programmer analyst. After 15 years and numerous successful initiatives, he now serves as vice president of innovation at the $2.1 billion asset credit union in Rapid City, S.D.
Steve says his “best day at work” often occurs when he’s not on the clock, but rather is out in the community. “I enjoy meeting a member who learns how I serve the cooperative and is quick to share how we make their life easy though convenient, do-it-yourself banking services,” he said. “I use the opportunity to remind them that they’re the owner, and inquire how we can make our services even better. Some of our best ideas come from members.” Check out all the winners and read their stories here. Comments are closed.
