Oahe FCU Raises $10,000 for Community Pool

This credit union brought in popular entertainment for their annual meeting. With ticket sales and a raffle, the Pierre Outdoor Pool Project received a very generous donation!

​Oahe Federal Credit Union in Pierre, SD used their recent annual meeting as a fundraiser to support the Pierre Outdoor Pool Project.  On October 23, the credit union brought in entertainment favorite, Deuces Wild Dueling Pianos.  Then, they sold show tickets to the community for the evening, with $10.00 from every ticket donated to the pool project.  They also sold tickets for a 50/50 cash raffle.
 
At the end of the evening, between the ticket sales, the raffle, and a donation from the credit union, a total of $10,000.00 was raised for the outdoor pool that the entire community will enjoy! 

The Pierre City Commission has already approved a plan to replace Pierre’s 90-year-old outdoor pool.  Developed by a volunteer citizens committee, the new pool includes a 50-meter multi-purpose pool, a recreational pool, and a lazy river, as well as a variety of water features such as slides, a diving tower, a water walk, a children’s water platform, shade structures, and zero depth entry.  The goal is to construct a modern outdoor public pool where families and people of all ages and physical abilities can gather to enjoy swimming, recreation, and outdoor water activities in a safe and friendly environment.
