Let’s go! This is it – today is the final day you can participate in our CUPAC/CULAC Holiday Sweepstakes! As you know, we have taken the fundraiser 100% online this year and have been heavily promoting its importance all month long. I wish I could tell you we are well on our way to meeting our goal, but unfortunately that is not the case. While the new electronic platform has several benefits, we have found it a bit problematic to those who haven't opened or checked their emails from us regarding the sweepstakes, or those we do not have emails for! Because of this, we are still a bit behind what we were hoping to achieve. Here is the good news: With your assistance in sharing this with your team TODAY, maybe we can, together, still reach our goal! The Holiday Sweepstakes platform will be live and open for your sweepstakes ticket purchases right up until 5:00 p.m. (CT) today, Wednesday November 30, 2022. In the past this fundraiser has consistently raised over $15,000 annually, all of which goes on to support credit union friendly candidates in their bids for state and federal office playing a pivotal role in our grassroots advocacy efforts here in the Dakotas. We are scrambling to meet that goal today. AND – let’s not forget all the support our Dakotas Congressional Delegation has given us! Just a week ago, during a Senate Banking Committee Oversight Hearing, Sen. Rounds pressed NCUA Chair Harper on language that was included in their 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, calling it “very problematic.” Sen. Rounds questioned, “Chair Harper, will you commit to avoiding similar problematic language in future strategic plans and commit to not punishing credit unions for supporting their local farmers ranchers and agri-businesses?” “Yes,” answered Harper. This is a clear victory for our Dakota credit unions! I’m glad the Senator was able to step up for our industry and get the Chairman on record with his response. That is just one major recent example, but trust me, all of our elected officials in Washington have earned our support, well aware of the important role credit unions play in supporting the communities they serve. This was clearly evident during the September CULAC Social we hosted at the CU House in Washington D.C., in which all six members of the Dakotas Congressional Delegation were in attendance! According to Congressman Dusty Johnson, that was the first and only time that has happen during his time in Washington! Help us Level Up to $15,000 Today! PLEASE – Help us make a late charge on our final day! As of this morning we have raised roughly $8,100. With your generous support, I know we can get much closer to our goals. Please share our sweepstakes link with everyone throughout your credit union team including your board of directors to ensure they have an opportunity to support the credit union industry and win some cash in the process! Get your tickets here! *Please note the Chrome internet browser is known to cause issues with some online forms. If you are experiencing issues entering a contribution amount or submitting the form, please try using an alternative browser such as Microsoft Edge or Firefox. Finally, a huge THANK YOU to those who have already made a contribution! Sweepstakes highlights
