by Lindsey Hefta, Director of Marketing With the success of last year’s Gas Station TV (GSTV) campaign reaching 1,873,929 impressions throughout the summer months, DakCU staff, along with the SWAP advisory team, agreed to try it again this year! While last year put up some big numbers that we weren’t sure we were going to be able to match, we decided to start a week earlier and include Memorial Day weekend into this year’s marketing plans to help drive those impressions up. And guess what? It worked! This year, we are pleased to announce that there were 1,944,011 impressions made at the pumps – that is nearly two million moments to drive action and create lasting brand impressions for local Dakota credit unions, yourmoneyfuther.com and the credit union movement as a whole! Now that our GSTV campaign has ended, we are planning on continuing this awareness momentum by publishing year-long advertising for daily online digital newspaper ads and monthly printed newspaper ads as well as bi-monthly digital and printed billboard ads across the Dakotas in our larger markets through December. As a reminder, in addition to those mainstream marketing placements, SWAP also has funds placed in a new medium for 2023 – eight months’ worth of digital geofenced ads in cities where we have participating SWAP credit unions! In addition to that great news, unique consumer visits to Your Money Further are just shy of ten million so far this year! From there, credit union participants are gaining much needed visibility in the highly competitive consumer finance space. It has come as no surprise that 97% of visits to Your Money Further site are from a mobile device and 92% of credit union searches are completed using the “near me” feature of the locator – a key resounding message throughout all our marketing mediums this year.
