As the summer begins to come to a close, events for your favorite charities and foundations begin to ramp up. I'm sure you get many invitations in the mail, all asking you to donate here, or become involved there. But what makes you go to some, and not to others? What piques your interest in one, while the next gets set aside? As July is quickly disappearing in the rearview mirror and August comes into focus, we have one of our largest Dakota Credit Union Foundation events staring us in the face: The Foundation’s 5th Annual Golf Scramble. And, while it's a perfect time to come together and have a great time as credit union colleagues, I think it's also a good time to think about why we have our Foundation at all. And maybe most importantly, what do we want the Foundation to look like? These are great questions that your Foundation board members ask themselves regularly. And if you think about it, they are not easy questions to answer. How can we carry on the credit union mission throughout our communities? What are the best ways to do that? As we continue into this year with new leadership and a new look at how we can best function as a foundation, these are questions we are looking to answer and questions we'd love to hear from you about. We are most successful when we receive feedback from our membership about how we can best serve the greater good. So, as we continue to get closer to our largest event of the year, I hope you ask yourself, why is it important that I attend this golf scramble? And how can the Foundation serve the greater good of the Dakota credit union movement? Because that is the point, the only point, where we can truly be successful. If you still haven’t registered for our Golf Scramble, please sign up today! You can contact me with any questions or comments at [email protected]. Comments are closed.
