The Dakota Credit Union Foundation held a regularly scheduled virtual meeting on Wednesday, September 27, during which two scholarship application were reviewed and approved by unanimous vote. Tracy Skoog, Operations Officer at Affinity First FCU (Minot, ND) will receive a scholarship for $1,250 to attend the iLead@11 DakCU Emerging Leader Program. This program is designed specifically for emerging leaders in the credit union industry, based on the popular Leadership@11 program by Eleven Performance Group. This is an ongoing program that allows participants to start whenever they want and determine their own pace to the program. To learn more, click here. Dane Dornbusch, Branch Manager/Business Loan Officer (Brookings, SD) will receive a $1,000 scholarship to obtain Business Lending Certification. This is a three-year course hosted in Madison, WI at the University of Wisconsin. Each year requires one week of in-person training. The Foundation Board congratulates both recipients and wishes them good luck in their studies. The Foundation awards grants and scholarship for training such as FiCEP or other professional development such as the iLead@11 DakCU Emerging Leader Program. In other business, the Foundation Board discussed the success of this year’s Golf Scramble and potential locations for the 2024 event. The golf outing will be held in conjunction with the CU Professionals Forum or other such event, and initial contacts have been made for potential golf courses in Bismarck and Fargo.
