Dakota Credit Union Foundation has scholarships available for financial counseling certification programs and professional development. Apply now!
The Dakota Credit Union Foundation has grants and scholarships available for financial counseling certification programs; for professional development through the iLead@11 DakCU Emerging Leader Program; and for the National Credit Union Foundation’s Development Education program.

CUNA Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) provides credit union employees with the skills and knowledge required to guide their members to sound financial decisions. Americans often learn about finances from their families and friends, or just go it alone. The need for expert help is real, especially when so many face uncertain economic futures. With certified credit union financial counselors on staff, credit unions are better able to:
  • Help members experiencing financial difficulties.
  • Demonstrate the credit union difference.
  • Attract new members.
  • Grow product and service revenue.

The iLead@11 DakCU Emerging Leader Program is a leadership development program designed specifically for emerging leaders in the credit union industry. This is a proven valuable training tool for developing and strengthening your organization’s leadership bench. The program features three pillars of self-paced study:
  • Session 1: Leading Yourself
  • Session 2: Leading Others
  • Session 3: Leading the Organization

For a limited time,  this three-session program, created by  Tonya Voltolina of Eleven Performance Group is being offered at $1,999! (That's $500 off the regular price of $2,499 per participant!) Click here for more details on this special offer!

Last but not least, Credit Union Development Education (CUDE) is delivered in Madison, Wisconsin, or via a virtual format. For 2024, in-person sessions are sold out; however, you may still register for the virtual option.

During the week-long program, you can expect to be transformed with the culture, strategy, outreach, and impact of the credit union movement, not to mention, gaining the highly coveted and prestigious CUDE designation! One applicant will be selected from each state, North Dakota and South Dakota, to receive a $2,000 scholarship. The first step is to register, then apply for a Foundation Scholarship.

If you are interested in applying for any of the Foundation Scholarships click here and follow the instructions on the fillable PDF application. Applications are reviewed and voted upon at monthly Foundation meetings.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact Shawn Brummer.
