North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem have both proclaimed Thursday, October 21 as Credit Union Day in their respective states. On this day, credit unions worldwide will come together to celebrate International Credit Union Day (ICU Day) and the role that financial cooperatives play in improving the lives of their members.
All credit unions share a common goal to offer access to affordable services to all of their members and provide even the most disadvantaged the tools and the opportunities to be financially self-sufficient. This is the credit union difference that makes a real impact in our communities, in our state, and in our world. We are happy to provide very nice electronic copies of the proclamations to you, which you can download at the links below. We encourage you to share throughout your branches, with your employees and members, because ICU Day is a “big deal.” Consider printing and framing, displaying in a visible location, or even setting it on a table with some refreshments on ICU Day. Share a picture on Facebook and other social media platforms! This International Credit Union Day, we hope everyone will join us in celebrating the credit union difference, our proud cooperative heritage, and the wonderful opportunities credit unions and cooperatives offer members in the Dakotas.
