Dakota CUs Celebrate ICU Day!

​A little Facebook creeping yields some snapshots of celebrations our credit unions are holding on International Credit Union Day. 

Today, October 19, is the 75th International Credit Union (ICU) Day, and we hope you are enjoying the occasion with some fun and recognition. Our cooperative industry does so many great things to improve the lives of credit union members and communities all across the Dakotas – every day, every week and month, year after year. It’s important to share those stories, after all, if we don’t “toot our own horns” a bit, who will?
 
In honor of the day, Governor Doug Burgum and Governor Kristie Noem signed executive proclamations declaring CREDIT UNION DAY in each of their respective states.

We also did a little “Facebook Creeping” to see how you were honoring the day, and here are some of the posts we found.  Enjoy, and keep sharing your stories!
 

• Area Community CU (Grand Forks, ND) treated members to ice cream treats provided b Hank’s Ice Cream truck in their parking lot! “Like ice cream, credit unions are always a great idea!”
• Black Hills FCU (Rapid City, SD) celebrated with “cold, hard cash!” Members could register at any of their locations for a chance to win one of 40 $75 awards in honor of the 75th ICU Day.
• Bluestone FCU (Sioux Falls, SD) gave away two prize drawings of winter gear packages, and free calendars for 2024.
• Consumer’s FCU (Gregory, SD) set up a snack bar for members to enjoy all throughout the day.
• Coteau Valley FCU (Sisseton, SD) offered a popcorn bar and prizes as a “thank you” to their loyal members.
• Dakotaland FCU (Huron, SD) served refreshments at all 12 of their branches.
• Fort Randall FCU (Wagner, SD) served “appreciation sack lunches” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that included a sandwich, chips, and cookies.
• Healthcare Plus FCU (Aberdeen, SD) invited members to stop by for an open house and sign up for prizes while enjoying some delicious coffee and cookies.
• Huron Area Education FCU (Huron, SD) increased their new member referral program, and offered up a $25 gift to new members AND to the referring member for each new account.
• Levo Credit Union (Sioux Falls, SD) marked the day by serving members cookies and Perky coffee in each of their branches.
• Norstar FCU (Britton, SD) held an open house with refreshments throughout the day.
• Oahe FCU (Pierre, SD) rolled out the red carpet with a celebratory lunch in honor of their members.
• Railway FCU (Mandan, ND) offered a free lunch with a “build your own taco bar” at both locations.
• Sentinel FCU (Rapid City, SD) gave away cookies and 2024 calendars at all of their branches.
