Each year, the Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU) recognizes credit unions that are celebrating significant milestones. This year, we have two credit unions celebrating 85 Years of Service; both were recognized at the DakCU Awards Banquet that was recently held at the Delta Marriott in Fargo, North Dakota. Bluestone Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1938 to serve the employees of the City of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Over the years, Bluestone Federal Credit Union’s field of membership had grown and today, this credit union serves 43 counties in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. They have nearly $188 million in assets and more than 11,000 members. Their mission is “to empower our members to make sound financial decisions to achieve their dreams.” Western Cooperative Credit Union is based in Williston, North Dakota with branches in Dickinson, Hebron, Beach, Glen Ullin, Ray, and Tioga. Chartered in 1938, the credit union has more than 18,000 members and over $450 million in assets. Their mission is “to maximize member benefits through cost effective financial services, education consistent with cooperative principles, prudent management, and to maintain a strong presence in our communities.” Comments are closed.
