Happy Memorial Day!
DakCU offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. Please have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. Originally known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States honoring U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. Memorial Day is also considered the unofficial beginning of summer in the United States.
 
FREE Holiday Signs

PAC Golf Outings
Support your state’s GAC committees by attending one of the upcoming golf outings. Both events are to generate funds for the corresponding state’s PAC. The North Dakota event takes place on Thursday, June 20th at Memorial Park Country Club in Lamoure, ND. South Dakota’s Par for the PAC is scheduled for Thursday, July 18, at Lead Country Club in Lead, SD. Please contact John Alexander (ND) or Chesney Garnos (SD) with any questions. Your support will help advance our advocacy efforts towards a more favorable legislative and regulatory environment for credit unions.  
 
Free Webinar – Managing Your Money and Retirement Goals
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is hosting a free webinar on May 30 in recognition of Older Americans Month. The webinar will focus on the importance of planning for retirement, managing money as you age, and ways to protect your money later in life. Online registration for this webinar, Aging With a Plan: Managing Your Money and Retirement Goals, is now open. The webinar is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. (CT) and is expected to run for one hour.

With speakers from NCUA’s Office of Consumer Financial Protection, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Social Security Administration, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the webinar will provide consumers with practical tools to manage finances as they age. Additionally, consumers, financial educators, and credit union professionals will learn about the resources and federal programs available for older Americans.

Red River Chapter – Fargo RedHawks Night!
The Red River Chapter of Credit Unions has planned an evening with the Fargo RedHawks on June 6th. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and game starts at 7:02 p.m. It is also “Mini Bat Giveawsay Night” where the first 1,500 fans get a souvenir bat. Tickets are just $18.00 which includes $15 in Hawk bucks and seats in section H. All are welcome! Kindly RSVP by May 29th to [email protected]. 
 
SE605 Chapter Annual Golf Tournament
The Southeast 605 Chapter of Credit Unions is holding their 22nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 27th, at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls. This event benefits Feeding South Dakota. Please register and remit payment here no later than June 1. More details available on the event flyer.
