Fall Hike the Hill Goes Virtual
Once again, we have had to alter our plans for our fall Regulatory and Legislative Hike the Hill event.  While we still could have traveled to Washington, DC, the pandemic situation is so fluid that we are unable to lock down face-to-face meetings with either regulators or our legislative delegation.  Therefore, we have decided to switch to a virtual platform for our meetings with the NCUA and CFPB.  The meetings will be held on September 14 and 15.  Click here for more information, or to register now.

Credit Unions United Chapter Meeting
The Credit Unions United Chapter has scheduled their meeting for Tuesday, September 7, at Knights of Columbus – 2601 N Broadway in Minot.  Meet at 6:00 p.m. for social with dinner and program to follow.  Speaker will be Ronelle Mehloff – Building Stronger Teams.  RSVP to Susan Bergman, GEM Federal Credit Union 701-852-3866 or susanb@gemcu.org no later than Monday, August 30.

Small Credit Union Roundtable and Retreat
Leaders at small credit unions in North and South Dakota will want to save the date for our Small Credit Union Roundtable on Tuesday, September 21st at Buffalo Ridge Resort in Gary, SD.
Hear from Tom Sakash, CUNA’s Small Credit Union Initiatives Manager, as well as Jim Kasch, founder of Canidae Consulting.  DakCU President/CEO Jeff Olson will be providing updates from the association that are particularly relevant to small credit union.  This retreat is being offered at no charge, the only expense you will incur will be for travel and accommodations.  Click here to register and for lodging information.

Coming Soon: New Ideas!
The very popular New Ideas Conference is headed to the Black Hills and scheduled for October 4 – 6 in Deadwood, South Dakota.  We have a terrific fall event planed with details and registration information coming soon.  This event has limited capacity and fills up fast, so be sure to save the date and register early.

Mark Your Calendars for October 21
International Credit Union Day (ICU Day) is Thursday, October 21.  Each year, we come together to celebrate ICU Day to raise awareness about what it means for members around the world to have a credit union as their financial partner.  This year's ICU Day theme, “Building financial health for a brighter tomorrow,” reflects the way credit unions contribute to a brighter future by working to improve members' financial well-being.  It is at the heart of the mission and structure of credit unions.  International Credit Union Day is brought to you by Credit Union National Association and World Council of Credit Unions.  Click here to be notified as soon as more ICU Day information and collateral is available.
