Capital Credit Union Promotes Monson
Ryan Monson was recently promoted to chief financial officer at Capital Credit Union. In this position and as a member of the credit union’s executive team, Monson will manage all aspects of Capital Credit Union’s accounting department including asset liability management, budgeting, cost accounting, forecasting and investment portfolio management. In addition, he will oversee the credit union’s human resources department. Monson graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is a certified public accountant. He has been with Capital Credit Union since August 2021, most recently as vice president of accounting. Monson and his wife, Angie, live in Bismarck with their sons, Bennett and Cooper.
 
Bank of North Dakota Presenting BND 101
The Bank of North Dakota (BND) is introducing a new six-week, virtual course this fall for banking, credit union and economic development staff members. The course will cover BND programs and the agency’s relationship with state government, financial institutions, and the public. The first one-hour course begins October 12 at 11 a.m. and will continue for six consecutive Wednesdays. Participants will register for the entire course, and if they are unable to attend a session, it will be recorded for them. A second six-week course will begin in February 2023. Topics include: Week One BND’s role in North Dakota; Week Two Commercial Loan Programs; Week Three Ag Loan Programs; Week Four Collateral Valuation Program; Week Five Treasury Services – Operations/Retail; Week Six Student Loans and Financial Literacy. President/CEO Opportunity in Sidney, MT
Richland Federal Credit Union, a growing $110 million credit union located in the agricultural community of Sidney, MT, in the Lower Yellowstone River Valley, is seeking an individual to succeed their retiring president/CEO. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction in all areas of credit union operations and assist the board in setting the long-term strategic vision for the credit union. They must have a thorough understanding of investments, with agricultural and consumer lending experience a plus. This individual will have a proven track record of community service, personnel management, communications, problem-solving, and organizational skills along with a high degree of integrity. Preference will be given to candidates with credit union experience, including progressive management and a college degree. Salary commensurate with experience. Vice President Position in Lincoln, NE 
​Spirit of America Federal Credit Union is hiring a Vice President. The position is focused on operations, accounting, and compliance. Responsibilities include NCUA Reporting & Compliance; Regulatory Compliance to include but not limited to:  Regulation CC, BSA, TIS, TIL, CECL, FCR; Investment and Deposit Activity; Records Preservation; Security – Members and Staff; Monthly Financial Reports; Vendor Relationships to include: Due Diligence, Contracts, Audits, Recordkeeping; Assist President with H.R.; Assist President with duties as assigned such as research, projects and new services; and Board of Directors Reports and Research. Financial Institution Experience required, federally chartered Credit Union experience preferred. Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred. Salaried position with a starting salary of $51,624 - $64,518. The Credit Union’s office hours to serve members are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The Red River Chapter invites members to join the chapter on July 26 for “RedHawks Night” and

Site-Four 10th Anniversary Open House Planned
Site-Four, a CUSO started by Explorers CU in 2012, is celebrating their 10th anniversary with an open house celebration on July 28th. This is a great opportunity to meet the Board of Managers and learn more about this CUSO that performs data processing for more than 100 credit unions across the country. America’s CU Museum – Credit Union Women Making History
America’s Credit Union Museum has announced the launch of a new “Credit Union Women Making History – Herstory” exhibit. Honoring the past, present and future of the incredible women making history in the credit union industry, Herstory will be an interactive exhibit showcasing inspiring stories never heard before. The new exhibit will premiere at the museum’s 20th Anniversary celebration in September 2022. In addition to a physical display at the museum, the exhibit will have an online presence that shares stories through virtual visits. Free Webinar Series for Small Credit Unions
There is a free webinar program for smaller credit unions from CUNA. In this series, you will be connected to business partners that are vetted and known to work well with smaller credit unions. Partnering with CUNA Strategic Services, the goal is to deliver direct to your office presentations on services from small credit union-friendly vendors that can help you enhance your organizations and the services you offer members. Each month, two small credit union-friendly providers will present how their offerings can enhance your service to members.
