Officially celebrated on or near Washington’s Birthday, Presidents’ Day is a holiday in the United States that occurs on the third Monday of February to honor all persons who have served in the office of president. Capital CU Announces New Team Members Capital Credit Union has announced the hiring of Tony Walz as regional sales manager east region and Sadie Walters as a financial services representative at their Veterans Blvd Branch in Fargo. As regional sales manager east region, Walz will oversee financial services staff at two Fargo branches and be responsible for consumer lending including auto, recreational vehicle and home equity loans, delivery of deposit products such as money market accounts and certificates of deposit, and actively soliciting, promoting, and servicing credit union products and services. He has 25 years of professional experience in the financial services industry. He joins the Capital Credit Union team from Town and Country Credit Union where he assisted members with consumer loan products and second mortgages. He graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead in Moorhead, MN, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. As a financial services representative Walters will be responsible for consumer lending, the delivery of deposit products, and actively soliciting, promoting, and servicing credit union products and services to Fargo-area members. Walters has two years of professional experience in the financial services industry. She joins the Capital Credit Union team from Starion Bank where she was a universal banker. She is currently attending Rasmussen University in Fargo, ND, working toward a bachelor’s degree in business management. Highmark Credit Union Seeking Chief Lending Officer Highmark Credit Union, based in Rapid City, South Dakota is seeking an individual to lead their lending department as Chief Lending Officer. Located in the beautiful Black Hills, Highmark Credit Union is a growing $255 million credit union and a $223 million loan portfolio. HFCU is seeking an individual to successfully lead the lending department and staff. The candidate will provide strategic direction in the lending side of credit union operations. Experience and understanding of Commercial, Consumer, and Real Estate lending is required. The Dakota Credit Union Foundation has approved two $2,000 scholarships, one for North Dakota and one for South Dakota, to attend the National Credit Union Foundation’s Development Education (DE) program. Those who complete the program receive the highly coveted CUDE designation. Cost to attend is $3,699 which includes lodging and most meals; travel expenses are not included.
