​Dakotaland Names Dane Dornbusch Branch Manager at Brookings
Dakotaland Federal Credit Union has announced the appointment of Dane Dornbusch as branch manager of the Brookings location. Dornbusch assumed the branch manager responsibilities after past manager Gene Bjorklund returned to the Dakotaland location in Volga. Excelling as a business loan officer since joining Dakotaland in May 2022, Dornbusch is a strong advocate for the credit union. He attended South Dakota State University and holds a bachelor of science degree in agricultural business; he is also certified in Bloomberg Market Concepts. In 2023 he graduated from the Leadership Brookings program.

Capital Credit Union Promotes Stampka
Kyla Stampka was recently promoted to vice president of accounting at Capital Credit Union’s Main Office in Bismarck. She will also join the credit union’s Senior Management Team. As vice president of accounting, Stampka will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, directing the activities of the Accounting Department and assisting in managing the credit union’s investment portfolio. Stampka earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Mary in 2003, and lives in Bismarck with her husband, Matt, and daughters, Kailey and Emmalie. She has been with Capital Credit Union for 13 years, most recently as controller at the Main Office.
 
Last Change – Alloya GAC Scholarship
The deadline to apply for the Alloya Scholarship for the Governmental Affairs Conference (March 3-7, 2024) is rapidly approaching. If you are an emerging industry leader under the age of 40, apply now for this scholarship! The award can be utilized to cover registration fees, hotel accommodations and travel expenses. Submit your application by January 17, 2024. Applications will be reviewed by the CMG Memorial Foundation board approximately one month before the event. All applicants will be notified via email with the results of the selection process.

SD Central Chapter Meeting
The South Dakota Central Chapter has scheduled their next meeting for Tuesday, January 16 at 6:00 p.m. Meet at the Dakotaland FCU Conference Room (south) for a learning session led by Steve Pierce, VP of Innovation at Black Hills FCU, on P2P apps such as Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, etc. This meeting will also be available via Zoom! Credit Unions United Meeting
The Credit Unions United Chapter has scheduled their meeting for Tuesday January 16 at Sleep Inn – 2400 10th St SW, Minot. Meet at 6:00 p.m. for social followed by dinner and roundtable discussion with John Alexander from Dakota Credit Union Association. Maurie C. Byrne Chapter Meeting
The Maurie C. Byrne Chapter is holding President’s Night with DakCU President/CEO Jeff Olson on Tuesday, January 23. Social begins at 6:00 p.m. at The Spud Jr Prohibition Room, followed by a meal and update from Olson. RSVP to Connie Johnston.
