Freedom Community CU Seeking CEO
After 45 years leading Freedom Community Credit Union, Mary Hagen has announced her retirement. Therefore, Freedom CCU in Fargo, North Dakota has an immediate opening for a Chief Executive Officer/Manager. Freedom CCU serves approximately 2,400 members from two locations: Main Office at 2940 University Drive N; and a Branch Office at 4505 47th Ave S. The credit union was chartered in 1954 and has assets of $31 million. Job description and responsibilities available here.
Capital Credit Union Promotion
Jessika Froelich was recently promoted to insurance agent for Capital Insurance Services, LLC, at Capital Credit Union’s Hazen and Beulah branches. In addition to her current responsibilities as universal services representative for the credit union, Froelich will now also be responsible for assisting members with all their insurance needs including auto, home, renters, recreational vehicle, life, farm, commercial and more. Froelich earned an associate degree in avionics from Community College of the Air Force in Montgomery, Alabama, and an associate degree in Korean language from Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center at the Presidio of Monterey in Monterey, California. She has been with Capital Credit Union since March 2022. Froelich and her husband, Mike, live in Hazen.
New Hire at Capital CU
Capital Credit Union has announced the hiring of Lauren Vandal as a financial services representative at their Veterans Blvd Branch, located at 3216 Veterans Blvd in Fargo. As a financial services representative, Vandal will be responsible for consumer lending including auto, recreational vehicle and home equity loans; delivery of deposit products such as money market accounts and certificates of deposit; and actively soliciting, promoting, and servicing credit union products and services. “I strive to put our members and their financial goals first by offering exceptional service and building valuable relationships with each member,” says Vandal. “I absolutely love what I do and am very happy to be with a team that shares the same passion I do.” Vandal joins the Capital Credit Union team from Wells Fargo Bank where she had worked since 2018. She graduated from Concordia College in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in music education.
Capital CU Announces Cash Management Team
Capital Credit Union has announced the addition of a Cash Management Team within the credit union’s Business Department. In addition to her current responsibilities as business credit analyst, Kaitlyn Ohlhauser will now also serve as cash management supervisor. Ohlhauser’s experience as a business credit analyst and her strong knowledge and expertise of the credit union’s business products and services makes her uniquely positioned for this role. She will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and supporting business cash management products and services and working with the Business Services Team to expand depository and cash management business. Ohlhauser has been with Capital Credit Union since May 2016. She and her husband, Jake, live in Bismarck.
Ashley Ryberg has been promoted to cash management officer. Ryberg will be responsible for managing ongoing cash management relationships, prospecting new accounts and building on current account services. She will support all aspects of the implementation of member cash management needs including merchant capture, positive pay, and our online platform for business, CU Online. Ryberg has been with Capital Credit Union since August 2021, most recently as a business services associate. She and her husband, Christian, live in Bismarck.
Capital Credit Union’s cash management services include ACH, which allows business members to manage payroll and vendor payments easily and cost-efficiently; Merchant Processing, which delivers payment processing solutions; Merchant Capture which allows business members to save time and money by scanning and depositing checks remotely; and Positive Pay, which protects businesses against altered and unauthorized checks, as well as questionable ACH transactions.
North Central Chapter Annual Meeting
The North Central Chapter has scheduled their Annual Meeting for Wednesday, May 24th, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 522 4th St NE Devils Lake. Meet at 5:30 pm for Social, with dinner and meeting to follow. Guest speaker will be Amy Kleinschmit, Chief Compliance Officer, Dakota Credit Union Association. RSVP to Tiffani Crist no later than May 22nd.
Red River Chapter RedHawks Night
Join the Red River Chapter of Credit Unions on Tuesday, June 20th for RedHawks Night and Military Appreciation Night. Tickets are $14 which include seats in Section H and $20 in Hawk Bucks. All are welcome; RSVP no later than June 5 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
NCUA 2023 CDRLF Grant Round Open
Credit unions eligible for Community Development Revolving Loan Fund grants in 2023 can apply between May 1 and June 30, 2023. Grant requirements, application instructions, and other important information are available on the grants program page of NCUA.gov. Grant applications must be submitted online through the NCUA’s CyberGrants portal. Credit unions with other questions about CDRLF grants may contact the NCUA’s Office of Credit Union Resources and Expansion at CUREAPPS@ncua.gov.
