SUMMIT MEETING HIGHLIGHTS The Dakota Credit Union Foundation held an in-person meeting on Tuesday, May 10th during the recent DakCU Summit in Rapid City, SD. After approving the 2022 budget and the financial report, discussion turned to recent disbursement requests. The Foundation Board unanimously approved a $5,000 expenditure to support financial wellness and education. The board is in the process of reviewing several options; more information will be forthcoming once the review process has completed. This will fulfill the mission of “Financial Well-Being For All” and enhance the options for Dakota credit unions to further engage members in support of that goal. The Board also approved three $800 scholarships ($2,400) for the iLead@11 DakCU Emerging Leader Program. This is an ongoing program that kicked off in late 2021. Feel free to contact George McDonald with any questions about this leadership development training. The Red River Chapter submitted a grant request for Real World Camp in Fargo, which was approved for $500. Finally, a $1,000 donation to the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions for the Ukraine CU Displacement Fund was unanimously approved. IN OTHER NEWS! The Foundation’s Wine Pull fundraiser was a huge success! All 100 tickets were sold, and since the cost of purchasing the wine was covered by pre-event donations, the Foundation netted $2,500 to support their ongoing initiatives. An additional $1,030 was raised at the DakCU Golf Scramble from sales of “Mulligans” and “Extend-a-Putts.” Finally, the 50/50 Raffle raised $627 for the foundation, with Jennifer Barret from Envisant winning the prize drawing. Special thanks to the foundation board members who helped make our Summit events so successful, and for their continued dedication to promoting credit unions throughout North and South Dakota!
