Celebrating World Penguin Day!

April is National Credit Union Youth Month AND today, April 25th is World Penguin Day, when we celebrate one of the most unique birds on our planet!

Did you know?

• There are 18 different species of penguins in the world. 
• All penguins’ natural habitats exist only in the Southern hemisphere.
• The Emperor Penguin is the largest at about 4 feet tall and weighing up to 90 pounds.
• The smallest penguin, Little Blue, stands about 12 inches and weighs just 3 pounds.
• Penguins are excellent swimmers – the fastest can swim 22 mph.
• Their “tuxedo” plumage is excellent camouflage when penguins are in the water.
• Penguins are highly social and many stay with the same mates for years.
