These credit unions were recently recognized for 80 and 85 years of service to their communities.
During the Summit Awards Banquet that was held on May 11th at the Holiday Inn – Rushmore Plaza in Rapid City, South Dakota, several credit unions were recognized for significant milestones marking years of service to their communities. Please join us in congratulating the following credit unions!

Credit unions celebrating 85 years of service:
Aspire Community Federal Credit Union – Minot, ND. In 1937, Aspire Community Federal Credit Union was issued its original charter by NCUA as the Great Northern Employees Minot Credit Union. The name was changed to Tran Em Federal Credit Union in 1970. In 1986, the credit union became known as Prairie Federal Credit Union, moving to their current location at 1430 South Broadway in the fall of 1989. On February 4th, 2020, the credit union rebranded as Aspire Community Federal Credit Union.

University Federal Credit Union – Grand Forks, ND. Since 1937, University Federal Credit Union has grown to meet the needs of their members. The credit union serves UND faculty, staff, and students, immediate family of members, organizations of members, employees of the ND School for the Blind who work in Grand Forks, civilian and military employees of the US government and employees of the State of ND who work on UND’s campus. Credit unions celebrating 80 years of service:
Community Credit Union – New Rockford, ND. Community Credit Union was organized as a federal credit union in 1942 by a small group of local farmers in New Rockford, ND. It was organized to serve members of the Eddy County Farmers’ Union and patrons of the Farmers Union Oil Co in New Rockford and Sheyenne, ND. It was later transferred to a state charter with a community field of membership, and grew with the mergers of Fessenden in the early 1980’s and Carrington in the early 1990’s.

Norstar Federal Credit Union – Britton, SD. Norstar was founded in 1942. The credit union serves those who live, work, worship or attend school in Marshall, Day or Eastern Brown County in South Dakota or Sargent County in North Dakota and their immediate family members.
