BISMARCK, ND – Capital Credit Union has announced the ten recipients of their $1,500 Howard J. Snortland Scholarships. The scholarship is named in honor of Howard J. Snortland and his 60 years of volunteer service to Capital Credit Union. Snortland was instrumental in helping the credit union grow from its humble roots to the thriving financial cooperative it is today. Since the scholarship was established in 1996, Capital Credit Union has awarded $155,500 to 156 students. Congratulations to these 2023 recipients:
Samantha Berger, Mandan, is currently a senior at Mandan High School. She plans to attend Mayville State University to pursue a degree in early childhood education. Kassidi Hatzenbuhler, Mandan, is currently attending the University of Mary, pursuing a degree in elementary and special education. Rachel Hertz, Mandan, is currently a senior at Mandan High School. She plans to attend Montana State University in Bozeman to pursue a degree in biochemistry and business. Mitchell Janssen, West Fargo, is currently a senior at West Fargo High School. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to pursue a degree in civil engineering. Micah Lundblad, Bismarck, is currently a senior at Legacy High School. He plans to attend North Dakota State University to pursue a degree in precision agriculture, crop and weed science. Ava Murdoff, Bismarck, is currently a senior at Century High School. She plans to attend the University of Mary to pursue a degree in nursing. Isabella Nolan, Hazen, is currently a senior at Hazen High School. She plans to attend Bismarck State College to pursue a degree in criminal justice. Isaac Peterson, Bismarck, is currently a senior at Bismarck High School. He plans to attend the University of North Dakota to pursue a degree in business and accounting. Gryffen Sailer, Bismarck, is currently a senior at Legacy High School. He plans to attend the University of North Dakota to pursue a degree in kinesiology. Audrey Vetter, Bismarck, is currently a senior at Bismarck High School. She plans to attend Bismarck State College to pursue a degree in speech-language pathology. Capital Credit Union, originally chartered in ND in 1936, has grown to more than 30,000 members. They offer personal and business financial solutions to individuals and businesses located within a 75-mile radius of Bismarck, Hazen or Fargo, or a 50-mile radius of Beulah or New Salem.
