Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) recently received two awards from the national employer recognition program Top Workplaces. BHFCU was recognized with a Culture of Excellence award in the category of Compensation & Benefits and an industry award in the Financial Services category for 2023. BHFCU asks staff to provide feedback through the Energage Workplace Survey each year. Top Workplaces uses this data to rank organizations nationwide and recognize them for areas in which they excel. “As a Human Resource professional, people are my passion. Working for an organization like BHFCU that shares that passion and takes it to the next level is rare and impactful,” said August Hicks, Human Resources Manager. “We were excited to learn of our Top Workplaces awards, and hear this same sentiment echoed through the words of our staff. Knowing the culture award is based solely on staff feedback makes it even more meaningful.” Survey results also highlighted that BHFCU employees feel genuinely appreciated, see strong values at work, and believe their managers care about their concerns. Established in Rapid City in 1941, Black Hills Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative serving more than 100,000 members. The community chartered credit union has locations in Rapid City, Custer, Eagle Butte, Hot Springs, Pierre, Sioux Falls, Spearfish, Sturgis, and Wall, South Dakota, and Billings, Montana.
