Sioux Falls, SD – Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) celebrated the grand opening of its fourth Sioux Falls location in May by giving back to the tune of $5,500.
The credit union celebrated the grand opening of their Sioux Falls East location with a week-long celebration, including a community-giving component. Members and area residents were encouraged to visit the new location to enter to win $500 cash plus the opportunity to select a charity to receive a $5,000 donation. “We are so grateful for our members and excited to serve them at our newest Sioux Falls location,” said Camille Tollefson, Sioux Falls East Manager. “When planning our grand opening, we wanted to incorporate an opportunity to award money to an individual and give them a chance to positively impact our community.” The lucky $500 winner, Sandra, selected The Banquet to receive the $5,000 donation. The Banquet serves over 200,000 meals annually, with at least 25,000 going to children under 12. All meals are paid for and prepared and served by volunteers. “While notifying Sandra of her $500 prize was fun, the real excitement came when sharing the $5,000 charity donation opportunity,” explained Tollefson. “Letting our winner get in on the experience of surprising a charitable organization was something we will not soon forget.” BHFCU’s newest location at 3701 E 10th Street features two drive-up lanes, four offices, and new Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) technology, offering expanded service hours. BHFCU supports community needs through corporate contributions, employee fundraisers, and donations from members and community supporters to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Established in Rapid City in 1941, Black Hills Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-forprofit financial cooperative serving nearly 100,000 members. The community-chartered credit union has locations in Sioux Falls, Custer, Eagle Butte, Hot Springs Pierre, Rapid City, Spearfish, Sturgis, and Wall, South Dakota, and Billings, Montana.
