Minot, ND – Aspire Credit Union has announced their next president and CEO, Kevin Vigested. Vigested will replace current CEO Mindee Kohlman, who will be retiring at the end of May. During this changeover, the two will work together to ensure a smooth transition for both staff and members. “I am excited for this new endeavor at Aspire Credit Union, and I am looking forward to working with the members to provide a positive experience to all,” stated Vigested. Aspire’s board president, Jason Rohrer, added, “We are excited to welcome Kevin to the Aspire team. He brings expertise to our organization, and we are confident under his leadership we will see continued growth within the credit union.” A native of North Dakota, Vigested has deep roots within the region. After graduating from Minot State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a minor in business administration and management, he put his degree to work as an auditor for the Health and Human Services Department. During his four-year stint at the organization, he was awarded the Inspector General’s Award for Distinguished Service for his contributions, foresight, and teamwork. In 2004, Vigested made a shift to the financial industry with an opportunity as a commercial lender. During the next 12 years, he served as a mentor to junior lenders, expanded his management aptitudes and communication skills. When he was promoted in 2016 to Branch President, he took on additional responsibilities including overseeing all operations for the branch location, focusing on business relationship development and implementing a strategic plan for each location that he developed. During his time at the bank, he assisted the management team in creation of a strategic plan for the central market in North Dakota including the cities of Minot, Bismarck, and Mandan. Vigesteds’ career success is paired with his passion for community. He is an avid Minot State University Athletics supporter, serving three terms as the Beaver Boosters Board President, and has been treasurer of the Minot Tournament Committee since 2015. He is an avid fan of the Magic City Youth Baseball group and the YMCA sporting activities, but perhaps most notably, Vigested shared a project dear to his heart, a foundation named for his brother, called Viggy’s Sandlot, LLC. This is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance for youth activities. Vigested and his wife Carla reside in Minot and have two sons, Parker (15), and Brady (13). Aspire Credit Union has served the Minot area communities since 1937. A non-profit, member-owned financial institution, Aspire Credit Union strives to provide the best service, products, and rates possible to meet its members’ needs. Aspire Credit Union is a community-chartered credit union serving Bottineau, McHenry, McLean, Mountrail, Renville, and Ward Counties. Federally insured by NCUA. Comments are closed.
