Credit unions are always striving to reach younger and future members, and during Youth Month and Financial Literacy Month in April, we have an opportunity to help teach and encourage kids and adults alike to develop good financial habits.
Unleash the Power of Saving at Your Credit Union is this year’s theme; do this, and help plant the seeds of financial well-being! If you have been wondering what your credit union can do to empower kids to save for their future, Youth Month activities are a great way to start. Engage kids across the Dakotas and within your community to help them learn that saving, no matter how small the amount, can help them achieve their dreams. Now is a good time to reacquaint yourself with DakCU’s Financial Well-Being website page. Recently updated, you will find resources (many are even FREE) to assist you in supporting your members’ financial education and well-being. CUNA also has many free resources including coloring pages, posters, and more that you can download here. Get involved by using the Twitter hashtag #CUYouthMonth to let everyone know how your credit union is making a difference in young members’ lives. Finally, don’t forget the Pee Wee and Friends® sale at the Igloo Mall for the entire month! It’s a great time to stock up on fun giveaways for your young savers. We look forward to hearing all about your Youth Month celebrations; be sure to share your special events for the Memo by emailing to [email protected]. Comments are closed.
