The theme for Credit Union Youth Month in April is Save Small. Dream Big. at your credit union™.
Do this, and one day you may have enough to fulfill a financial dream! That’s the message credit unions are hoping to convey to younger and future members during National Credit Union Youth Month, when credit unions across the nation help teach and encourage kids to develop good financial habits. If you have been wondering what your credit union can do to empower kids to save for their future, National Credit Union Youth Month is a great opportunity to start! This celebration is a time to engage kids across the Dakotas and within your community to help them learn that saving, no matter how small the amount, can help them achieve their dreams. This important message comes at a time when credit unions need to focus on expanding their membership of younger members, as was reported in the recent CUNA Economic Update. Looking for ideas to celebrate this year? How about:
CUNA also has many FREE resources including coloring pages, posters, and more that you can download here. PLUS – DakCU is planning a very special Pee Wee and Friends® sale at the Igloo Mall for the entire month, so be sure to watch for that big announcement next week! Finally, don’t forget to make a splash on social media with free downloadable graphics. Get involved by using the Twitter hashtag #CUYouthMonth to let everyone know how your credit union is making a difference in young members’ lives. We look forward to hearing all about your Youth Month celebrations, so be sure to share your special events for the Memo by emailing to [email protected]. Comments are closed.
