Announcing State-Level National Awards

​Congratulations to these credit union winners of the Desjardins, Dora Maxwell, and Louise Herring awards. 

Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU) announced the 2020 state-level award recipients of the National Awards as determined by the Credit Union National Association.  The distinguished honors were made during the DakCU Summit awards banquet held recently at the Delta Marriott Convention Center in Fargo, ND.  State level awards are judged by employees from other Midwest Leagues including Illinois, Nebraska, and Minnesota.

Desjardins Adult and Youth Financial Education Awards recognize credit unions’ efforts to teach personal finance concepts and skills to members and nonmembers.  Congratulations to:   
 
Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union, Sioux Falls, SD
First Place in the Adult category for $50M to $250M in assets.

Capital Credit Union, Bismarck, ND.
First Place in both the Adult and Youth categories for $250M to $1B in assets.  
 
Town & Country Credit Union, Minot, ND.
Second Place in the Youth category for $250M to $1B in assets. 
 
East River Federal Credit Union, Madison, SD.
First Place in the Youth category for less than $50M in assets.
 
Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Awards are given to a credit union or chapter for its social responsibility projects within the community. Credit unions receive the award for activities that help people or strengthen the structure of a community. The winners representing work completed in 2020 include:
 
East River Federal Credit Union, Madison, SD.
First place less than $50M in assets.  This first place winner is especially notable because they also won first place nationally!
 
Postal Family Federal Credit Union, Fargo, ND.
Second place less than $50M in assets.
 
Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union, Sioux Falls, SD.
First place $50M to $250M in assets.
 
Railway Credit Union, Mandan, ND.
Second place $50M to $250M in assets.
 
First Community Credit Union, Jamestown, ND.
First place $250M to $1B in assets.
 
Capital Credit Union, Bismarck, ND.
Second place $250M to $1B in assets.
 
Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Awards are given for practical application of credit union philosophy within the actual operation of the credit union and recognize programs and services that benefit membership.  The recipients for projects completed in 2020 are:

First Place less than $50M in assets.
 
Railway Credit Union, Mandan, ND.
First place $50M to $250M in assets.
 
Capital Credit Union, Bismarck, ND.
First Place $250M or more in assets.

Second place $250M or more in assets.
