The fall Hike the Hill meetings are kicking into high gear this week, with credit union leaders visiting lawmakers in Washington, D.C. as the House and Senate both return to session. Along with our Dakota group, CU Leagues from Florida, Georgia and Alabama, Louisiana, Montana, Ohio, Utah, and Virginia are bringing credit union professionals from across their states to focus on industry concerns on Capitol Hill. Be sure to follow DakCU’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) as we connect with both lawmakers and regulators! The CUNA-League system is rolling out new banner ads and digital ads this week, focusing on the interchange impact on small businesses while credit union visitors are in town. These resources and more are available on CUNA’s Advocacy Interchange page.
Also this week, the House of Representatives will consider H.R. 4365, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2024; and H.R. 1435, the Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act. In the Senate, consideration will resume for Tanya J. Bradsher to be Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs. In Committee this week. Tuesday
