30+ Years Keeping it Clean!

​The SD Central Chapter’s annual ditch walk brings multiple Huron area credit unions together in an effort to spruce up their community. 

For the past 32 years, members of the South Dakota Central Chapter have volunteered in an annual “Ditch Walk” at the end of summer, retrieving a large collection of miscellaneous trash that was either dropped or escaped in transport.  

This September, the group of 11 volunteers covered their two-mile stretch of ditches along the divided highway south of Huron, an annual volunteer project that began in 1991 through the South Dakota Adopt-A-Highway program.

At the end of the day, the trash collected filled approximately 8 large industrial sized garbage bags! The tired crew then met up for pizza and conversation after the work was completed, to celebrate their “spiffed up” roadside.
