Scott Simpson Returns to AACUL Board The American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL) and America's Credit Unions announced that America's Credit Unions President/CEO Scott Simpson has rejoined the AACUL Board. A former leader of three state leagues and past AACUL Chair, Simpson returns at a pivotal time as state and federal advocacy efforts continue to align. His role strengthens coordination across the League System, especially as AACUL, America's Credit Unions, and system leaders meet this week for joint strategic planning. “Our system is strongest when we work as one,” Simpson said. FY26 FSGG Update Senate appropriators released their FY26 Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) bill last week, with several credit union priorities addressed. The Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI) Fund would receive $324 million, matching FY25, while the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA)’s Community Development Revolving Loan Fund (CDRLF) would receive $3.272 million, a slight decrease from last year. Reminder: FY25 CDRLF applications are due Dec. 16. The administration had proposed eliminating both funds; however, the House FY26 bill includes $276.6 million for the CDFI Fund and $3.4 million for the CDRLF. We’re urging Congress to adopt the higher Senate funding level in the final package. Key Message: Credit unions support full funding for the CDFI Fund and CDRLF, which allow credit unions to drive meaningful community impact. Regulator Oversight Hearing America’s Credit Unions will join tomorrow’s House Financial Services Committee oversight hearing, where NCUA Chairman Kyle Hauptman is scheduled to testify.
