Since its establishment in 1991, “Women Build” volunteers have come together to help create stronger, safer communities. In a show of support, three Rapid City, South Dakota area credit unions joined forces for this year’s “Women Build Habitat for Humanity” annual event. Black Hills FCU, Highmark CU, and Sentinel FCU filled the volunteer spots as event sponsors. With more than 32 women signed up, it was one of the largest Women Build successes in recent years. Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating affordable housing in the region. Habitat has helped over 300 Rapid City area families since its inception in 1990. Volunteers worked on two houses for the Women Build event, one in Rapid City and the other in Box Elder.
Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity offers more opportunities for those interested in getting involved. More information can be found on their website. Comments are closed.
