Equally as Important: CFPB Publishes Two Final Rules Addressing ECOA Amendments
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) recently finalized two proposals that address certain provisions of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA, Reg B). Read more here. It Just Keeps Coming: NCUA Releases Eleventh Proposal Recently, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) released an eleventh round of proposals as part of its ongoing deregulation project. The NCUA’s deregulation project is designed to remove or alter rules and regulations that are duplicative, obsolete, provide an undue burden, or intended to only serve as guidance. The NCUA first announced and began the project in December 2025. Find more here. Navigating NACHA Updates: Essential Changes Through 2028 Risk management implementation for ODFIs and RDFIs enters its final phase in June, and NACHA continues to enhance the ACH Network. Between late last year and early this year, NACHA introduced several rule changes scheduled to take effect between September 2026 and March 2028. Highlights include updated funds-availability requirements for non–Same Day credit entries, multiple changes that modernize IAT (International ACH Transaction) processing, higher dollar limits for Same Day ACH, and a new return reason code for sanctions-related blocks.
