Fargo VA has not just met their $5,000 pledge for the new CU4Kids Micropreemie Care Unit at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota – they have exceeded their expectations and have now donated a total of $5,671 towards the project.
Jana Thune, CEO of the credit union, was one of the first CEOs that signed on to the project early last year after their board approved the partnership proposal. Fargo VA has traditionally participated in the CU4Kids Miracle Jeans Day in support of the local CMN Hospital; however, because there was no specific date set for that particular event this year, the credit union designated Friday, September 13, for their own Miracle Jeans Day. Once again, staff opted to sell Sandy’s Donuts, a local favorite, asking for a minimum donation of $3.00 per donut. The credit union ordered 20 dozen donuts and sold out in just five hours thanks to amazing support from their credit union members and others in the Fargo VA HealthCare System hospital where the credit union is located. At the end of the day, the credit union raised $671 from this sweet event, which puts them over their initial pledge! The credit union plans to continue their fundraising support until the project is completed!
