SWAP Adds New Cooperative Principle Social Posts

1/15/2026

Picture
New ready-to-use SWAP social posts are available to help credit unions share their cooperative values.
DakCU's State-Wide Awareness Program (SWAP) builds on the 2019 national credit union awareness initiative by bringing credit union awareness efforts home to the Dakotas. The purpose of SWAP is simple and consistent: to increase general awareness of credit unions across our states.

SWAP amplifies each credit union’s voice, supports local media and businesses, and delivers a cohesive, high-impact campaign that no single institution could achieve alone, while keeping marketing dollars invested right here in the Dakotas. SWAP is not intended to replace individual credit union marketing, but to strengthen it by aligning statewide awareness efforts with each credit union’s local marketing strategies.

New Cooperative Principle Social Content Available to Members
SWAP continues to grow as a collaborative effort to elevate credit union awareness across the Dakotas and one of the ways it does that best is by listening to member feedback.

In response to a recent suggestion from a participating credit union, DakCU has developed a new set of ready-to-use social media posts focused on the credit union cooperative principles the values that truly set credit unions apart. These messages highlight people helping people, local impact, and member ownership, reinforcing the shared message behind “Your Money. Your Values. Your Credit Union.”

Turnkey Social Content
As a benefit of participating in SWAP, contributing credit unions should have received a new set of social media assets via email this week. This turnkey collection includes fully written, ready-to-use posts that highlight the cooperative principles at the heart of the credit union movement, making it easy to share consistent, values-driven messaging across your channels.

Designed to make participation easy and efficient, the posts may be:
  • Used as-is
  • Customized to reflect your credit union’s voice
  • Shared across the social platforms that best reach your community

What’s Next
A new quarterly SWAP update will be shared in approximately three weeks, featuring campaign highlights, performance insights, and a preview of what’s ahead.

Thank you for supporting credit union awareness and for the important work you do every day in your communities. Together, we continue to amplify the values behind “Your Money. Your Values. Your Credit Union.”

For questions about SWAP or how your credit union can engage, please contact Lindsey Hefta, Vice President of Marketing & Communications. SWAP contributors should have received an email this week with the new social media posts. Please reach out to Lindsey directly if you did not receive them and need access.
