Something New, Something Blue!

Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union has announced their rebranding and name change to Bluestone Federal Credit Union!
“One thing that really hasn’t changed in our organization over 83 plus years of our existence, is the face-to-face contact.  You can come in and you can see me face-to-face.  The Board Members of our Credit Union are volunteers.  They live in our community, they work in our community.  We love to have these interactions with people.”
~
Jeff Jorgensen, President Bluestone Federal Credit Union

Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union recently unveiled a new name, new logo, new website and new mobile app as part of an extensive rebranding initiative.  We’d like to introduce you to Bluestone Federal Credit Union!

As Sioux Falls continues to grow, the credit union recognized the need to help clear up local brand confusion.  Moving forward as Bluestone Federal Credit Union, they are setting themselves apart with a look and feel that communicates modern, progressive services designed for a new generation.  The rebranding initiative also coincided with an expanded field of membership.  As they continue to grow and serve a diverse membership, they are also innovating their services through technology—while still honoring the value of relationships.

“Everything we stand for is wrapped up in our new logo and icon; the building blocks of a great financial institution.  The challenge was to create a logo that encompassed everything we stand for: strength, progressiveness, security, dependability, connectedness and quality; in a way that is easily recognizable.  We combined the basic shapes of a padlock for security, a wallet for financial services, a gemstone for quality, a building block for stability and a rock for durability.  All came together handsomely to form our ‘B’ shaped icon,” says Jorgensen.

“When I talk to anyone about Bluestone, I really talk about the Core Values and our Cooperative Principles;
they make us completely different than any financial institution you deal with. The biggest part is,
you’re the owner. They’re represented. They’re thought of first, every moment of every day.” ~ Paul Buriak, Board Chair

Moving forward as Bluestone Federal Credit Union, this credit union is proudly forging a new path into the future with a bold new brand that reflects a friendly, personal banking style and rock solid commitment to customer service and community.  Something new, something Blue.  Introducing Bluestone Federal Credit Union!

Chartered in 1938 to serve the employees of the City of Sioux Falls, over the years, the Credit Union’s field of membership had grown to encompass Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook and Turner counties in South Dakota.  With this rebrand and field of membership expansion, today Bluestone Federal Credit Union serves 43 counties in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota and has over $150 million in assets and 10,500+ members.
