Junior Achievement SD provides financial education to elementary, middle school, and high school students in 42 communities in the state. Credit union volunteers regularly volunteer to visit classrooms all across the state to help educate young students about financial literacy. In fact, credit unions in South Dakota have been strong supporters of the Junior Achievement program for many years. During the 2023-2024 school year, more than 55,000 students received financial education through the program with the assistance of 49 credit union staff members! Now, moving into the 2024-2025 school year, 57 credit union employees have already committed to serving as JA Student Impact Volunteers! And, recently, the Dakota Credit Union Foundation Board of Directors approved a generous grant in the amount of $2,000 for Junior Achievement of South Dakota. The grant is being used to purchase materials and digital resources directly used by the students at schools engaged in financial literacy. DakCU and our Foundation would like to honor the 2024-2025 volunteers and their credit unions who are selflessly giving time and valuable resources to support financial well-being for these young consumers, the next generation of credit union members!
