Several months after implementing National Cash Register (NCR) deposit-taking ATMs, Fort Randall Federal Credit Union (Fort Randall FCU) is seeing strong member adoption and positive operational results across the rural communities it serves.
The technology has expanded convenient access to banking services, allowing members to make deposits on their own schedules without traveling to a branch. Adoption has been particularly strong in communities such as Lake Andes, where members quickly embraced the new service. "For many of our members, this means they no longer have to make that long drive. They can make their deposit when it works for them, and that matters," said Julie Thomson, President of Fort Randall FCU. The ATMs have also integrated smoothly into daily operations, helping streamline deposit processing and allowing staff to focus more time on member service. "It has been a positive change for us. Approving deposits is quick and fits well into our daily workflow," said Audrey Fink, Vice President of Operations. In addition to improving convenience, the deposit-taking ATMs are helping Fort Randall FCU expand its reach into nearby communities without the cost of opening additional branches. The credit union views the technology as a long-term solution that supports growth while maintaining its commitment to serving rural members.
