Prairie Business has named Sarah Johnson to its prestigious 40 Under 40 list, recognizing emerging leaders who are making a meaningful impact in their industries and communities. The honor highlights Johnson’s career rooted in service, collaboration, and community advocacy. Over the years, her work has included involvement in initiatives such as the Mayoral Task Force on Elderly Exploitation, a pre-pandemic effort focused on protecting vulnerable populations—an experience that continues to shape her commitment to community engagement. “I am deeply grateful for this recognition,” Johnson said. “To work in an industry that uplifts and supports people is one of the most rewarding aspects of my life, and I am so proud to represent Western Cooperative Credit Union and Western North Dakota. It is part of our mission at WCCU to support the communities around us, and I’m excited to continue that goal and see what we can achieve next.” The recognition is especially meaningful to Johnson as several of her colleagues at Western Cooperative Credit Union have also received this honor over the years. Sharing the 40 Under 40 distinction with fellow team members reflects the strong culture of leadership and service within the organization—and makes the achievement even more special. Western Cooperative Credit Union is based in Williston, North Dakota with branches in Dickinson, Hebron, Beach, Glen Ullin, Ray, and Tioga. Chartered in 1938, the credit union has more than 18,000 members and over $450 million in assets. Their mission is “to maximize member benefits through cost effective financial services, education consistent with cooperative principles, prudent management, and to maintain a strong presence in our communities.” To learn more visit wccu.org.
