Avanti Federal Credit Union’s CEO, Austin Petrik, recently joined hundreds of credit union leaders from across the country at the Credit Union Leadership Symposium in Boston, thanks to a scholarship award from Alloya, that made his attendance possible.
Hosted by Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union, the Symposium drew a record 290 professionals from 179 credit unions across 25 states. Attendees heard from top speakers, including best-selling author Nancy Giordano, economist Dr. Elliot Eisenberg, and Olympic gold medalist Mike Eruzione, on topics ranging from leadership and innovation to the economic outlook and cybersecurity. “It was an incredible opportunity to learn, connect, and bring back new ideas for our members,” Petrik said. “I’m very grateful for the scholarship that allowed me to attend.” Want to hear more from Austin? Ryan Goehner, CEO of Dakotaland Federal Credit Union (South Dakota), was appointed to Alloya’s Supervisory Committee for 2025–2026, helping to provide oversight and guidance for the corporate’s operations. In addition, Floyd Rummel, III, former CEO of Northern Hills Federal Credit Union (South Dakota), was honored as a Director Emeritus, a lifetime designation recognizing his long-standing leadership and contributions to the credit union system. DakCU’s SVP/Chief Officer Engagement and Partnerships, George McDonald, praised the ongoing relationship with Alloya: “Our partnership with Alloya continues to open doors of opportunity for Dakota credit union leaders. Whether it’s scholarships that help emerging leaders attend the Symposium or board and committee appointments that highlight the influence of our region, we are proud to see our credit unions represented so strongly on the national stage.” Alloya Corporate FCU is a DakCU CAP member devoted to helping credit unions achieve collective cost-savings and competitive advantages, while the cost benefits and profitability remain within the cooperative network.
